Bars, Putney High Street

April 01, 2015

Unless you live in Putney, it tends to be a night out overlooked. With that being said, even whilst living here it took me a long while to explore in depth and find the not-so-hidden gems the high street has to offer. The Toy Shop is an inventive, creative and colourful spot where you can sip cocktails from a pink robot whilst sitting in an aqua velvet tub chair. If you're looking for somewhere quirky, this is the place to be, especially as it doesn't break the bank when compared with Central London pricing.

After this we strolled next door, to Be At One. Whilst a chain bar, the atmosphere in the Putney store is always brilliant. The bar staff are friendly, and with hundreds of cocktails to choose from the only problem you're faced with is deciding upon one that will make your friends a little jealous because it's just that good. As someone who drinks alcohol very rarely, it is not often I find a drink which doesn't taste like I am drinking chemicals from a year nine science experiment. However, Be At One succeeded in conjuring up the most delightful half drink, half dessert mixture I have possibly ever tasted. The 'Irish Disco Biscuit', made up of Baileys, Oreo cookies and vanilla ice cream is a reason in itself to hop into your nearest Be At One ASAP!
